Rotary Christmas Toy Box Initiative

ToyBoxesThe Rotary Club of Belfast has donated the equivalent of 10 toy boxes to give to children living in refuges in Belfast this Christmas. The Club is just one of many Rotary Clubs across the UK participating in a nationwide campaign to provide a Rotary Christmas Toy Box in conjunction with the charity KidsOut. All the toy boxes are packed by KidsOut with brand new toys and are distributed straight to refuges for the mothers to give to their children from Santa in time for Christmas.

Christmas is always tough for families in refuge, and this year is even harder than usual because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most children arrive at refuges with only the clothes on their back and mothers struggle to provide basic essentials let alone toys at Christmas. These toys make the world a little kinder.

KidsOut is a Rotary charity, started by Rotary and run by Rotarians who aim to bring a bit of fun and happiness into the lives of disadvantaged children, they believe every child deserves to build happy memories. Gordon Moulds, Chief Executive of Kids Out, thanked the Club members for their generosity and support noting “it has made a real difference to some of the most disadvantaged children in your local area, bringing some joy when they need it most”.
