Rotary Club of Belfast

Mitchell House School during Covid

Miriam Donnan 22.03.21In a very well presented and received talk Monday 22 March 2021 guest Speaker Miriam Donnan, Principal Mitchell House School, noted she was delighted to address the Club and thanked for the Club's ongoing support for the School. She revealed that with the onset of the 1st lockdown a year ago they had been thrown into the midst of technology challenges having to operate through Zoom, Google Classrooms and individual telephone calls and had tried to maintain a sense of a school community by providing stories and activities for the children to do. Reopening in August had also posed many difficulties to surmount with PPE, bubbles and no peer mixing and had called for creative solutions. There had however been many positives but they were looking forward to getting back to normal!

Giving the vote of thanks PP Mark Davidson thanked her for letting the Club be involved with the Kid's Out days and Christmas Parties which members had enjoyed.
