Rania Lewis 11.10.21Natasha Oviedo 11.10.21The Club were delighted to hear from 2 Global Scholars at the zoom meeting Monday 11 October. Current 2021/22 year Scholar Rania Lewis from Austin Texas (pictured left), who will be studying at QUB for a Masters in Conflict Transformation & Social Justice, gave a highly detailed account of her background, study, interests and future plans in particular highlighting her enjoyment being in NI.

Last year’s Scholar Natasha Oviedo from Sierra Madre, a city in Los Angeles County, California, who has stayed on in Belfast after her MA year also in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice explained she is now involved with a Language and Solidarity Initiative which "aims to empower and integrate adult asylum seekers and refugees in Belfast through linguistic, social, and cultural education and immersion." She is also an active supporter of the Rotaract Club of Belfast.

Both speakers’ addresses were peppered with infectious enthusiasm and were greatly appreciated.
