Cork Rotaract Club

Rotaract Joel 20.09.21Cork Rotaract Club member Joel Oseiga gave a most interesting presentation outlining the recent creation, Chartership and work of the Cork Rotaract Club. He advised that it started in 2020 and was Chartered earlier this year. City based they run 2 meetings a month - a business meeting by zoom and a social get together - and they focus on projects with community impact. So far they have:

  • helped run the Cork Rotary Clubs' Friendship Night for Cork senior citizens at City Hall, a night of dining and socialising, music and dance
manned the Tree of Remembrance and even recruited a new member
  • fundraised, in conjunction with the Rotary Club and the Junior Chamber, for the Irish Network against Racism and were delighted and greatly encouraged to raise €1,803.50
  • initiated the Cork Rotaract Fireside Chats which are an informal yet structured discussion with a guest speaker; the first was held in February with Ray O'Callaghan, Manager at Marks and Spencer's, Cork.

His presentation was well received, best wishes were extended for its future and it is hoped that they will keep in contact with the Belfast Rotaract Club.
