Barry Funston 29.11.21.jpgBarry Funston, Chair Lady Mary Peters Trust in a most entertaining and interesting address to the Club 29 November noted that he was 28 years in the oil industry before working for the Rory Foundation for 6 years and in February 2021 had the huge honour to be appointed Chair of the Lady Mary Peters Trust.

Noting it is 50 years since Lady Mary's gold medal he hopes to bring his experience and knowledge to the Trust and secure it for the next 50 years. 2022 also heralds the hosting of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the Trust will be funding athletes as usual. Barry revealed that Covid has impacted their fundraising and they are extremely grateful for the Club's vital support.
