Parkinson’s UK

Nicola McClure 28.02.22Guest speaker Nicola McClure, Parkinson’s UK NI Regional Fundraiser in an interesting and well received address to the Club Monday 28 February highlighted the incidence of the disease and what Parkinson’s UK do.

Parkinsons Slide 2Parkinsons slide 5She pointed out that Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition which causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time; it is more than just a movement disorder - the 3 main symptoms being tremor, stiffness and slowness of movement; everyone's symptoms will be different, not necessarily have all the symptoms, progress varies from person to person but for each it is life-changing.

Nicola stressed we can’t beat it as individuals but we can if we come together as a Team and Team Parkinson’s (which can be signed up for on their website) is for everyone who cares about Parkinson’s and wants to make a difference. She also pointed out the importance of donations and fundraising.
