Lord Mayor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir Addresses the Club

Honorary member Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, Lord Mayor of Belfast, spoke to the Club Monday 23 September 2013 on the theme of peace and reconciliation within the City Hall and his hopes for the future. His theme is Building the future Belfast – together and he hopes to achieve this by working hard to bring people together. He reflected that this must be done in small steps with a focus on the positive.

He concluded that the youth of today, unlike the previous generation, have a future vision and that there is a new, very positive, story to be told. He asked all to spread the word noting that Rotarians enact the City of Belfast's motto Pro tanto quid retribuamus (What return shall we make for so much) every day. He asked that Rotarians inspire others and spread the gospel of giving. He commended the Club and stated that the best years are in the future. His address was very well received, roundly applauded and received a standing ovation.
