Extraordinary way to get ShelterBoxes up River

boxesupriverMalaysia15Following devastating floods in Malaysia late December 14 ShelterBox response volunteers have been helping provide shelter for people who have lost their homes. In the eastern state of Pahang, where more than 130,000 people had been evacuated, a team found that the effects of the worst flooding seen in the last 40 years have reached further than the waters themselves with homes, villages and roads completely destroyed, leaving whole communities homeless and inaccessible.

ShelterBox have just released this video which shows the extent of devastation caused by the flood waters and how now the water levels have fallen, with the assistance of the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART), the team got the boxes upriver to deliver aid to people who had lost everything.
