Rotary Club of Belfast

Get out and be active...

AnneIvanRachaelAnne Madden and Rachael Ludlow-Williams spoke to the Club Monday 16 January about Sustrans the UK charity which promotes and enables people to get out and be active for everyday journeys by travelling by foot, bike and public transport. Their vision is a world in which people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment.

They advised that they are the leading sustainable transport charity delivering £49m projects in 2015/16 and through their threefold strategy promoting active travel, improvement of the infrastructure and behaviour and influencing policy and legislation, working with schools, workplaces, communities, policy makers and partner organisations, they enable people to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys and create better places and spaces to travel through. Many questions followed their well-received address.
