Today, 23rd February 2017, Rotary is celebrating 112 years

of making a difference in communities across the world.

 

 

Through its 6 areas of focus Rotary helps to strengthen peace efforts and support long-term peace building in areas affected by conflict through the Foundation Rotary Peace Fellows; educate and mobilise communities to help prevent the spread of major diseases such as polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria by improving and expanding access to low-cost and free health care in underdeveloped areas; maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems; give communities the ability to develop and communities save lives through training and immunisation programmes-80% of maternal deaths can be prevented with trained healthcare workers; get children into education to break the cycle of poverty in underdeveloped areas and develop the long term prosperity of communities.
