Rotary Club of Belfast

Help them to Help Others

PaulinePresRosemaryBrendanGuest speaker Monday 27 November Brendan O'Neill, St Vincent de Paul's new Regional President with Regional Manager Pauline Brown gave a stimulating address on the work of the Society in Ireland and the problems it faces particularly at Christmas time. He highlighted the launch of this year's Christmas Joint Appeal with the Salvation Army  which the Club always supports (see here).

Launched last week by Jedward it brings festive cheer to thousands of local underprivileged children and families and it is augmented this year by Translink who will be placing collection bins in six of its busiest bus and rail stations.

His harrowing presentation in places, which revealed a generally unrealised level of poverty in our community, was very well received.
