TABU students report

44.TABU2014We were delighted to welcome back to the Club, Monday 8 September, the 6 TABU 2014 students who each reported back to the Club with their reflections on the programme arranged by the Rotary Club of Highland Park/Highwood, Illinois last April. A common theme throughout their presentations was how they had had their eyes opened by the experience. Each student expressed their sincere appreciation to The Rotary Club of Belfast and the leaders on the trip Vice President Claire Savage, Brian Gillespie and Past President Bryan Johnston and their hosts in Highland Park for the opportunity to go on the TABU programme. All present at the meeting were struck by the confidence of these sixteen and seventeen year old young people and the obvious impact that the TABU programme had on them. Thanking the students for their presentations President Ronnie expressed the hope for the future with young people such as these who are a credit to their country and their families.

The TABU Exchange with the Rotary Club of Highland Park/Highwood Chicago has been running for over 20 years. Full details can be seen here.
