Be the Inspiration - Be Jordan

EricColinPresMarkColin Kennedy, Chief Executive of the NI charity Jordan’s Gift (formerly CEO the Mary Peters Trust) gave a very moving presentation Monday 24 September about his son Jordan’s death and the charity he set up as a consequence to help young people who are disadvantaged by way of disability, social deprivation and social need.

Colin advised that he initially had set up the charity to keep Jordan’s memory alive but it has subsequently grown and he revealed that it is now having important results as they distributed over £30k since last September. He pointed out that they raise funds by holding events.

He played the video right which tells Jordan’s story and the devastation felt after his death. In 2014, Jordan died suddenly at the age of 22 after suffering a devastating epileptic seizure. Jordan had been fun-loving, giggling, mischievous and always laughing but above all he took pleasure in helping others. Jordan also cared deeply for his mother and his brother, who both had disabilities - his older brother Jared was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of 3 and his mother lost her mobility when he was a young teenager.
