Rotary Club of Belfast

Christmas Party 2019

This year's Mitchell House Christmas Party on Friday 16 December was another resounding success, enjoyed by the 30 children from the junior school, staff and, not least, by the Club members who attended.

IMG 6587IMG 6534Magic George again entertained  for 45 ecstatic minutes - the wayward monkey, excitable weasel and collapsing wand still very much in place. The old formula can’t be beaten!

Children then grouped in a circle by senior teacher Lisa Boyd, our super contact for the event. After a snack of juice and chocolates, Santa made his appearance to distribute the presents. Every child gets a moment for a chat and photo to go with their goody bag. All was then rounded off with a Christmas sing song.

This year we were delighted to be joined by member Veja Toth with Rotaract Member Jack McKinney and who helped with present and juice disbursement.

Thanks, as always, are extended to Past President Brian Ferguson (for the snacks) and Brian Clements (for the presents) and to John McCleery and PP Ivan McMinn - we always welcome their support.

Finally huge thanks to Santa, our friend and former member Courtenay Thompson, who was born to play a man who gets a enjoys distributing gifts and goodwill!
