President's Day 2026

golfersPresident Heather was delighted to welcome members and guests to her President’s Day held at the Royal Belfast Golf Club, Monday 29 June. Always an exceptional event in the Club calendar, this year's relaxed and convivial evening proved to continue that tradition being greatly enjoyed by the 31 members and guests attending. Sadly the weather was not conducive to sitting on the terrace for the pre-dinner drinks but the rain held off for the 4 golfers who had a most congenial round. After a delicious dinner Hon. Treasurer Tim Brown revealed that Past President Ivan McMinn had won the MacNab Golf Trophy with an excellent 33 points which it was presented to him by President Heather. PP Ivan remarked that they had had an excellent game and that he and PP Campbell Morton (with youth & experience!) had halved the match with Hon. Treasurer Tim and Hon. Secretary David Boyd. He noted that although he is not able to attend regularly he is very proud to be a Past President and part of the Club and he was delighted to "be back home".

She particularly stressed how enthusiastic she is about friendship, service and being people of action, which she believe lies at the heart of Rotary and thanked everyone for making her year so remarkable. She concluded by noting that as President of The Rotary Club of Belfast, how proud she is to tell people about all the work the Club is involved in and the difference it can make.
