Rotary Club of Belfast

John Savage Award 2024-25

HCT JSA Cup crop 27.10.25The Club is delighted to award the 2024-25 John Savage Award and Bursary to Harmony Community Trust (HCT); it is awarded by the Club annually to an individual or group selected as giving great service to the Community. President Heather was delighted to present the Cup to HCT Chair Judith Thompson and Board member Seamus Camplisson at the Club meeting Monday 20 October.

HCT is a charitable organization founded in 1975 which promotes social inclusion and fosters positive community relations throughout the province. In their residential and activity centre, Glebe House, situated on an 8-acre site in the village of Kilclief, near Strangford they have facilitated groups of people from different backgrounds to come together in a unique residential setting, in contrast to their home environment, and cooperate in creating an environment in which differences and distinctiveness were acknowledged, accepted, respected, explored and valued.

Whilst society and communities have transformed since 1975, Glebe House HCT remains committed to provide this shared, safe, fun, and inclusive environment that welcomes and supports people of all ages to come together to work, play, and develop relationships.

At the Club meeting Judith and Seamus spoke in detail about the early days and current plans.
