Rotary Club of Belfast

My Year

LordMayorNualaMcAllisterAddresses ClubHon. Member, the Lord Mayor of Belfast Councillor Nuala McAllister, in a very well received address, most eloquently gave the Club, Monday 21 May, her personal reflections of her year as Lord Mayor.

She noted that was delighted that her theme Global Belfast had been successful with now an open, inclusive and welcoming place to live and do business in - a city attractive to visitors and investors alike. This was illustrated, she noted, by the number of cranes which reflects investment expenditure, new hotels and infrastructure which have generated international tourism and notable visitors such as Price Harry (now Duke of Sussex), Kenneth Brannagh, George Mitchell and Bill Clinton. She stressed this had only come about because Belfast has come a long way and there is now a pride in the city and mutual respect. She concluded by noting that the people are creating all the good things in the city and thanked each member for their individual service.
