KenDavidPresMarkThank you David Smyth QC for your anecdotal and interactive address to the Club Monday 15 October - pictured centre with President Mark and Vice President Ken Nixon. Called to the Bar in 1972, David’s career at the Bar spanned 23 years; on the Bench from 1972 to 1990, he was appointed QC in 1989 and a County Court Judge in 1990 and retired in 2013 as County Court Judge for North Down following previous assignments to Counties Fermanagh and Tyrone and Antrim.

President of Addiction NI David concluded his address highlighting the work and appealing on behalf of Addiction NI who are 40 years old this year. A registered charity, Addiction NI is the leading counselling, support and information service for people affected by alcohol and drug misuse. They provide tailor-made treatment programmes for people with drug or alcohol problems delivered in community settings. They also give confidential support for people affected by someone else’s drinking or drug use. All their services are delivered at venues across NI.
