Sadly the weather was not conducive to sitting on the terrace but the rain held off for the 3 golfers who had a most congenial round. Hon. Treasurer Tim Browne revealed that PP David Boyd had won the MacNab Golf Trophy with an excellent 39 points and it was presented to him by President Steven.

Pres Day 23.10IPP Ken Nixon paid tribute to President Steven noting he had had a great year from the first event with the San Antonio Club Peace Awards culminating with the fantastic funds raised for ShelterBox. He noted that it was all the more impressive as he also had a 'day-job' and was an Assistant District Governor as well. IPP Ken congratulated him adding it was a delight to 'hand him the chain' again for 2023/24!

Pres Day 23.11.JPGPresident Steven replied that he had greatly enjoyed his year and had been set an excellent example. He revealed that the Club's reputation is very high in District and this is a tribute to all members to whom he is indebted and that it will be an honour to continue for a 2nd year.

Highlighting the Rotary Motto Service Above Self he emphasised that the Club embody this in the many projects and work from YouthAction, San Antonio, Lendwithcare and Global Scholars to the fantastic ShelterBox effort (see below). He mentioned that the Club had during the year sadly lost PP John Lowry and Walter Rader who had served for 35 and 25 years respectively but, with thanks to PP Alan Rundle, was delighted to welcome the new members.

Pres Day 23.1He noted that the Club greatly appreciated the years Lorna Magill had been Hon. Secretary and that this has been taken over by PP David Boyd. He also thanked Jenny Boyd for all that she has done and presented her with a most unusual mixed pot of cacti.

President Steven concluded by thanking Council members and Service Chairs and all members for the hours spent for the Club which was greatly appreciated not only by the Club but also by District.
