Christmas Dinner 2012

Xmas2012A wonderful evening of good food and warm fellowship crowned by a delightful Christmas concert, which had the whole room singing (and even being penguins!), was enjoyed by Rotarians and guests at the Christmas Dinner Meeting held at the Ulster Reform Club Monday 10 December 2012.

 All present were particularly delighted to sing Happy Birthday and celebrate Past President Bill Donaldson’s recent 95th birthday as he blew out the candles on his cake.

 

PenguinsInActionContinuing the special Centenary recognition of Past Presidents of long standing who have continued to significantly contribute to the work of the Club, President Alan bestowed a Paul Harris Fellowship on Past President Victor McKirgan . Replying PP Victor stated how shocked and honoured he was to receive the Fellowship and replied with a characteristic recitation on a round of golf.

EntertainersUnderwayThis evening concluded with an excellent concert from the renowned tenor Winston Irwin, accompanied by our own Past President Brian Clements which had the whole room singing carols and Christmas songs! There was also a special rendition of the Penguin Song by the ‘Two Tenners and a Five Bob Note' – otherwise known as ADG Maurice Brooks, PP David Boyd and PP Brian Clements – who taught all present to be a penguin…
